HONORING THE ROOTS OF POLE DANCE
If you are taking classes at our studio, we ask that you respect and understand that pole dancing was created by strippers and originated in a strip club. Strippers created the techniques that define what pole is today, and without them this art form would not exist. We encourage you to respect and support the roots of pole and the people who have paved the way for the classes you are able to take. We are grateful to be able to offer such a beautiful and sensual form of dance, and hope it is approached with the same care and respect.
DANCECLUB IS AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
We are committed to maintaining a space free from hate, disrespect or discrimination. Everyone is welcome here and everyone is wanted here. We want you to come as you are, and respect of your peers is expected and essential.
Class specific stuff below!
Please check in with the front desk before class
If you are taking one class or multiple classes that day, please let them know when you check in. Even if DanceClub is your second home, please still check in.
Please keep your voices dowN While entering the studio
Whether it’s the front room or the pole room, please keep your voices down when entering either studio if another class is in session.
Please choose a different pole each time
We know that some people have a favorite pole, but some poles have easier videoing views than others. Switching it up each class keeps it fair, and we want everyone to share all the good stuff.
Please be aware of others when you dance
During freestyle, or when choreography moves away from the pole or onto the floor, please be mindful of your space in relation to others. Getting too close to someone else will make them stop dancing, and we definitely don’t want that.
Please refrain from teaching your fellow students
For liability reasons, please don’t teach pole moves and pole tricks to another student, even if they ask nicely. We don’t want anyone to get hurt - even if intentions are good.
Please keep things tidy
Please put back heels you borrow, put dirty rags in their bins, and clean your pole at the end of class.
Please be kind
DanceClub is a very special place for many reasons, and kindness is key.
Studio Policies
Purchases
All DANCECLUB Asheville purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make a note of expiration dates of your purchases. If you would like a friend to take a class with you you may purchase a gift certificate for them. Sharing packages is not allowed. You will be offered one opportunity to extend an expired package for 1 month for $30.
Cancellation Policy
In order to keep a class credit, you may cancel up to 12 hours before the class begins. If you cancel in less than 12 hours before your scheduled class you will lose that class. Please be sure to cancel at least 12 hours ahead of time.
All classes are subject to cancellation if there is low sign up ahead of time. If you are signed up for a class that is canceled you will not lose that class. It will be added back in to your account.
Late Policy
We recommend showing up 10 to 15 minutes before your class begins to avoid being late. Warming up properly is one of the most important parts of class. If you are more than 5 minutes late to class we have the right to not allow you to participate and you will lose that class.
Sign up ahead
We love it when our students sign up ahead of time! We highly recommend it due to limited class size. It ensures your spot in class, it helps our teachers prepare and it should also help motivate you to come!
Last minute drop-ins
You are welcome to walk in and join a drop in class without signing up online if space allows! However, we do recommend reserving your spot online ahead of time for both drop in classes and series, because it guarantees your spot in class.
